This policy describes how the Print Overlay iPad application ("the app") handles information. Print Overlay is a professional anesthesia charting tool used by anesthesia providers at healthcare facilities.

The short version: the app collects no data. Everything charted in Print Overlay stays on the iPad it was charted on, under the control of the healthcare facility that operates it. Nothing is sent to us, and nothing is sent to third parties.

Information the app collects and sends to us

None. The app has no accounts on our servers, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting services, and no tracking of any kind. We (the developer) receive no usage data, device data, or content entered into the app.

Information stored on the device

The app stores the information that providers enter while charting a case, such as case times, vital signs, medications, fluids, and provider names, locally on the iPad in encrypted storage. No patient name, MRN, or date of birth is entered into or stored by the app. The printed record is linked to the patient only when the facility applies its patient label. This information:

never leaves the device to reach the developer or any third party;
is retained and managed under the operating facility's own policies;
can be removed at any time by deleting the case records or the app itself.

Bluetooth

The app can optionally connect over Bluetooth to vital-signs capture hardware located in the operating room to receive monitor readings. This is a direct, local device-to-device connection. It does not use the internet, and readings received this way are stored only on the iPad as part of the case record.

Printing

Completed charts print over the facility's local network using AirPrint. Print jobs go directly from the iPad to the selected printer and are not routed through any external service.

Network use

The app is designed to operate offline. Facility editions that synchronize between devices carry provider preferences, including accounts and charting presets but not case data, over a wired connection while the iPads charge on their rack. The connection uses hardware Print Overlay provides rather than the facility's network. The app performs no synchronization or backup to internet cloud services.

Children's privacy

The app is a professional tool for licensed healthcare providers and is not directed at children.

This website

printoverlay.com is a static informational site. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and no third parties collect personal information about your activity over time or across other websites through this site. Standard web-hosting logs may record requests, and the fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which receives the routine technical data (such as IP address) needed to deliver font files. Because the site does not track visitors, it does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals. No activity is tracked either way. Information submitted through contact or demo forms is delivered to us by email and used only to respond; to review, correct, or delete information you submitted, email the address below.
